To be quite honest I think the Spinsters of San Francisco is a bit ridiculous. The name in and of itself is terrible. But much like my opinions on sororities, my views of “Spinsters” have changed since joining. I love tequila, cocktail dresses, dive bars and boozy brunches. But I also love, love, l-o-v-e working. Upon moving to the city I remember feeling like I was surrounded by one or the other. I didn’t meet a whole lot of people who shall we say are climbing the ladder with drink in hand. Spinsters has introduced me to a group of like-minded women who are motivated by work and play. Like myself, they are ambitious, big dreamers and very fun. It shouldn’t have surprised me since no lazy-ass is going to join a charity organization that requires commitment… Once again I surprised myself and I am happy I joined. Out of 160+ members, I have met a handful of fabulous friends.
But don’t expect to see me serving on the Board any time soon. I am always going to make fun of the girl who says “smokey eyes are out, this season it’s all about the bold lip” and is serious. Although now I am laughing at it in the company of some amazing new friends.
