As we near the end of June we’re coming up on peak summer season and the 4th of July. I’ve added touches of red, white, and blue to what is otherwise an incredibly neutral palette throughout my home. Something about Americana decor transports me to a lake, the smell of sunscreen, and lazy Summer evenings.
I tend to keep summer decor focused on my front porch and kitchen/tabletop. Last year, I found the perfect vintage-inspired bunting, but these from Pottery Barn are very similar to mine. While I only keep the bunting up for a couple of weeks in the summer, I leave my porch pillows up from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. I’ve been searching for years for the perfect flag pillow for my porch and still have yet to find what I’m envisioning. I love this mix of floral and star pillows for something different. I always add a doormat, a wreath, or a hanging basket with festive ribbon swag.
I’ve done some fun variations of 4th of July tables over the years but this year am going the (mostly) disposable route since we’ll be in Lake Tahoe for the Fourth. I scored the cutest napkins, plates, and bamboo trays at Homes Goods right after Easter but found them online too! This large one is perfect for serving outdoors and this mini one has been used almost daily for the girls’ afternoon snacks. I also got these cute melamine plates from Target that we’ll use year around for outdoor eating. All mixed together I’m getting Coastal Grandmother vibes. Speaking of coastal grandmother, this vase is the perfect addition. It’s currently sold out but here’s a similar one. Lastly, these glass hurricanes (small & large) are very substantial and look way more expensive than they are. Such great staples to have for entertaining.
Happy decorating and entertaining!
Love it all!!!
