We had pulled our girls out of daycare a week prior, I had stopped going to group fitness classes, I stocked up on canned and dried goods (guilty), and there was that anxious chatter a few days before about whether or not we should cancel Caroline’s 3rd birthday party. But March 13, 2020, – that’s when COVID really began for us. That’s the day we canceled her party. As we near her 4th birthday I can’t believe we are going to forgo another birthday party for our sweet girl. Luckily, Caroline is young enough not to really know what she’s missing. As a parent though, I just want my kids to experience all the celebration.
No one could have predicted we’d be here, in much the same place as last year. As the weather warms and people we know start being vaccinated, there is definitely hope. Yet being that my family and I are at the very bottom of the eligibility list, I don’t foresee much changing for us in the next few months. So we’ll be here, dreaming of all the outdoor dinner parties and togetherness hopefully coming this summer!
Happy March!
