For some reason 24 sounds so much older than 23. Never in my life have I felt so different from one year to the next. Maybe it’s that with 24 comes your “mid-twenties” and you no longer have that “just-out-of-college” excuse card to play. While I am not sad to see 23 go I know it wasn’t all bad. I went on some incredible trips to Seattle, Spain, Vegas, Cabo and Tahoe. I made the big move to San Francisco. I made a home for myself here and learned some pretty important lessons doing it….
- We all live in excess.
- Drugstore beauty products work just as well as the expensive ones.
- Planning dinner is hard work. How did our moms do it every night for upwards of 18 years???
- It’s easy to get lost in plans but very difficult to live in the present…
- I know I should separate my laundry, but I don’t. Who has that many whites???
- Don’t apologize for what makes you laugh.
- I am proud and unapologetic about how much I miss my parents. And yes, they live just 50 miles south.
- A rainy day fund is absolutely, positively essential for all adults.
- Yoga is the only form of exercise I enjoy.
- I really don’t like chicken.
- Walgreens has automatic refills?!?! No more calling in and waiting on hold because I lose my prescription number.
- The checkers at Trader Joes automatically double bag because they assume if you are not “green enough” to bring your reusable shopping bags then you at least walked there. I’m 0 for 2.
- My 6th sense is a dirt spotter.
- You can learn a lot about someone based on how they act toward the waiter.
- You have to make a conscious effort to continue learning after college.
- Dressing for your body type is as essential as it is annoying. No Kendall, no matter how much you want to wear chiffon it clings to your birthing hips.
- Embrace and protect porcelain skin.
- Bringing ingredients to room temperature before baking makes all the difference.
- Life is all about timing.
- I love all music, seriously everything except Maroon 5.
- I can’t drink caffeine after 2:30PM. Old age sucks.
- Be exactly who you are. Show your true colors. Because anything less is a waste of your time and mine. And we don’t have time to waste.
- “Having a job is the new raise”

KK, your list/remarks make you sound so old, maturity is a good thing, but it only makes me feel older!
