Boo Baskets

Have you heard of “boo baskets”? Yeah, neither had I. It’s basically an Easter basket but for Halloween that the mommy bloggers of Instagram give their kids at the start of each season. Apparently, Summer and Back to School baskets are a thing too. It seems over the top and gluttonous, but really it’s just a cute way of presenting things you’re probably already buying for your kids. Let’s be honest, presentation is everything anyways. It makes something as mundane as new pajamas or craft supplies a little more special. And in a year like 2020, I’m all for making the every day more special for our family.

Of course, there are exceptions, but I really try not to buy our kids toys outside of their birthdays and Christmas. I made a joint basket so it was less of a ‘thing’. It’s full of festive goodies to enjoy all season long. I included the cutest Halloween pajamas, a fun sweatshirt, leggings, stickers, a couple of new books, a few bows, and new playdoh.

The holidays will be far from what we are used to so I am looking for any excuse to make even the silliest of things into a fun memory or new tradition in the months to come.

  • Burt’s Bees pajamas – my absolute favorite pajama brand for babies and kids. Their patterns are classic yet whimsical, the fabric is insanely soft. They are Baby Gap or Hanna Anderson quality at an Old Navy/Carter’s price point. And you can buy Burt’s Bees pajamas on Amazon or at Target. Win-win.
  • H&M ghost sweatshirt
  • Striped leggings
  • Bows – A Little Lady Shop – the girls get 3 bows each month through the monthly bow box subscription. These were the October collection
  • Assorted stickers from the Target Dollar Spot and Dollar Tree
  • Five Black Cats book
  • One Black Cat book
  • Purple and orange Play-Doh
