January Favorites

Back in 2011, I started this blog by sharing completely random thoughts – songs I liked, outfits that were inspiring me, and recipes I made. This post feels very reminiscent of that time, but let’s do it. Here’s a totally random compilation of things my family and I loved in January.

Dave and I watched a documentary on Marc-AndrĂ© Leclerc, The Alpinist, this month and it’s a truly incredible story about an under-the-radar, solo rock climber and alpinist.

I added a lamp to my kitchen counter and it’s been the coziest and most enjoyable addition. It doesn’t look like my lamp is still available, but my mom has this one by her sink, but it won’t fit under a cabinet, FYI.

Dave and I are downing these seltzer waters from Trader Joe’s. The cranberry lime flavor is my favorite. Speaking of drinks, who knew a cup could have a cult following but the Stanley Adventure Tumbler sure does, and I’m here to tell you it’s worth the hype. If you’ve given birth, you surely remember those amazing plastic jugs the nurses bring you with ice water. I liken this cup to that, but better because it’s 40oz and fits in a car cupholder.

I’ve been making peanut butter and banana smoothies on repeat. The picture above is from this recipe which I adapted to my liking. I don’t measure anything when making a smoothie but I use a frozen banana, a big scoop of creamy peanut butter, hemp hearts, a dash of cinnamon, and almond milk. So good!

The girls got this city block set for Christmas and it’s absolutely darling. It’s great on its own but also fun when paired with our plain wooden blocks and Magnatiles. Dave actually found this scavenger hunt game and it has been a huge hit. There’s a deck for the car, at home, and outside (we keep it in the stroller) and it really holds the kids’ attention. They love it.

I’m always looking to add more clean products into my life but so sick of spending $$$$ on beauty products. I’ve been using this Versed Rich Moisture night cream that’s only $18 and definitely notice my skin is less dry than in early January.

I shared these pillow shams in my mood board for the girls’ shared room. I actually bought them in December before they were officially released so I’ve been enjoying them for over a month and I absolutely love seeing them when I walk into the girls’ room. The quality is amazing which isn’t always the case for some of these Target lines.
